We were referred to Alex Manos as someone who might be interested in purchasing our 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280SL. Abraham was our representative and our primary contact throughout the transaction.
The 280SL was owned by my cousin, Jonathan, who passed away before he could complete the restoration he had envisioned for the car. Although the car was drivable, its full mechanical and structural condition had not been determined. As the Trustee of my cousin’s Trust, my goal was to find someone who truly appreciated these classic Mercedes-Benz automobiles and would have the knowledge and resources to complete the restoration.

We initially offered the car through Bring a Trailer. We provided extensive photographs and a detailed description, including photographs documenting the significant rust damage to the undercarriage. Despite that issue, the remainder of the car was in remarkably good condition. Extensive engine and interior work had already been completed, giving the car a very attractive appearance.
The winning bidder subsequently determined that the restoration was beyond what he was prepared to undertake, and his purchase price was refunded. He then provided us with Alex Manos’ information and recommended that we contact them.
